What is offered regarding emotional intelligence?
During play therapy sessions the child learns to become emotionally intelligent as he is assisted to discover and talk about her emotions and thoughts. Awareness of physical reactions to emotions (like clenched teeth) is also discussed, as this awareness can help with emotional control or regulation. The child not only learns to be aware of his emotions, but also to communicate them in an assertive way. Parents are also involved in this process of helping the child to learn about and accept this big part of their lives - their emotions.
